Suzanne & JT
October 13, 2012
At Alicia K Designs, we are passionate about designing custom weddings and bringing each couple’s dream to life. When Suzanne and JT posed the question, “How would you bring casual elegance and an overall feel of a Luxury Island Resort to Kunde Family Estate and Winery”, we knew Team AK had our marching orders. The color palette was a huge factor of the design and an instrumental part in translating the theme into the overall look. To start, we chose a base of crisp white hues and greens with pops of color. Digging deeper, coral and poppy tones with fuchsia woven throughout the arrangements inspired us, as the color tones were the perfect way to intertwine a vibrant, luxurious Island feel with a Wine Country elegance. Once we had the color palette, incorporating the strong and vibrant floral elements brought cohesion to the design. White hybrid Oriental lilies, orange-coral pincushion protea, gloriosa lilies, and white phalaenopsis orchids created show stopping arrangements for the guests to enjoy.
The creation of an “al fresco” dining vignette was a must for our clients. The natural canvas at the illustrious Kunde Family Estate and Winery includes light diffused through branches of ancient oak trees and fields of lavender and wild flowers--Talk about WOW factor! The soft, muted shades of the table linen and the chic, white Chiavari chairs allowed the vibrant floral arrangements to take center stage.
Coupled with Suzanne and JT’s vision, every element was perfectly balanced to create the relaxed and sophisticated “Island Vibe” Suzanne and JT had hoped for. To Suzanne and JT: Happy 2nd Anniversary! We are wishing you the very best & our many thanks to Kate Webber for capturing the day!
Liz & Kurt
The day we first spoke with our delightful bride, Liz, was a specifically lovely day.
“What are your favorite things?” We asked.
Liz, with a smile, answered: “I like experiences more than things.” We knew instantly that this would be an ideal relationship one that would produce beautiful experiences!
Hosting their wedding celebration in the heart of Northern California’s wine country was an “experience” she and her handsome groom, Kurt, wanted to share with their family and friends.
The bride and groom’s design and architectural backgrounds were present every step of the way. The unique architectural elements presented by the Dunfillan Ruins at Kunde Family Estate were an ideal backdrop to bring this couple's vision to life. “We love the history and all the rich textures to it, yet it is still open to nature which is what we love most…We love wine and the way of life in Napa so it’s the perfect spot!”
This wedding exudes a feeling of romantically casual elegance through the the portrait of the bride and groom casually strolling in the vineyard as well as the groom sporting his signature NIKE sneakers sets the tone.
Happy Anniversary Liz & Kurt, we are so happy to have been a part of your special day!
A special nod to Darcy Padilla for making this wedding celebration picture perfect.
