Oscar Party!

Last blog post I talked about all the luscious and beautiful gowns and suits that were seen on the Red Carpet. However, for the average joe's like myself where the closest I will ever get to attending the Oscars is via my television screen...why not bring the glam of the evening to your own home? I grew up attending Oscar Parties that my best friend's aunt threw. With confetti, red carpet entrances and cocktails galore it made the experience so fun! (Plus I'm a sucker for anytime I get to dress up a bit). As I am a believer that its never too early to plan a party (or at least begin to gather ideas), I thought I would pass along a few of my new favorite ideas that I am keeping on the back burner for my next Oscar  party.  I'm a huge fan of the classic Hollywood glam: Golds, blacks and metallics and love how they all come together. I hope this inspires you to throw a party next year or to add a few of these idea to your own party!

Want to make it even more interactive? Add a red carpet so your guests can feel like VIP's when they enter the party. Also, have your guests dress the part! The Oscars are all about the glamour, so why not dress up so? It will get you in the mood for the evening to come. You can have a fun ballot for your guests during the Oscars (between commercials of course): Best Dressed/Worst Dressed/Most Likely to Win A Real Oscar- you get the idea :)  And of course my personal favorite- have everyone put in $5-$10 dollars into a "pot", whoever predicted the most winners wins the money! Definitely serves as a great motivator to watch all the nominated movies before the big day...

Whatever your style, hosting a glamtastic party or just having a few friends over for Champagne, you cannot deny the Oscar allure :)

Happy Oscars!

Love, Hazel
