Engagement photos can turn into a very stressful step in the wedding planning process... "What do I wear?!" is a question we frequently get asked by our brides. My advice... Be yourself, show your personal style and try to compliment one another. I know this sounds cliche, but from all of the feedback I have heard from our brides, its the only way you will feel the most comfortable, and comfort is key! The purpose of the shoot is to capture you and your fiancé/fiancée's true self. I would suggest having two different looks- comfy and casual (jeans, cute blouse, or adorable dress), and a more semi-formal date night outfit (a dress that makes you feel confident and sexy). Check out this blog post on Style Me Pretty for more advice on how to style engagement photo outfits.
Another key component to great engagement photos is choosing the right photographer! You should really get along and genuinely like your photographer as they are the ones that can help you loosen up! It is such an intimate experience and they are the ones capturing the biggest and most important moments of your life. Before you hire your photographer, try to get some face time or a phone call in to see how you feel. The best photos are the ones where you dont try and are having fun, being comfortable with the one behind the lens definitely helps :)
For me, there is something so endearing when looking at engagement photos. They portray the couple in such an intimate and honest way... I just love them! Here is a sneak peek of engagement photos passed along from our stunning bride, Margaux. These photos were taking on the beautiful central coast in San Luis Obispo photographed by Jake + Necia. We are so excited for their upcoming wedding at Greengate Ranch this October! Please enjoy :)
