Our Favorite Wedding Shoes
“Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world” Marilyn Monroe famously said about one of her favorite accessories. While conquering the world is definitely on the to-do list of many today, conquering the right pair of shoes for your wedding day can certainly offer the same challenges. With so many options, styles, colors and designers, beginning the process can be overwhelming for anyone! We wanted to share with you a few ideas that can help you get on the right foot (literally!) with a few of our favorite shoes of our past brides…
Consider Your Venue
We absolutely adored these Clare wedges from Jack Rodgers (Can be found here). This bride was getting married at Kunde Estates in Kenwood, where its outdoor, dirt and gravel grounds can pose to be a challenge maneuvering around the property (though no one can deny the beautiful views there!). Wedges are a great option because not only do they give you some height, but its flat sole allow you to walk comfortably through uneven grounds. If your venue is indoors, wearing heeled shoes is the most popular style and offers a lot more options in terms of styles. Take into account your wedding colors, and design- and go for it! Just remember that those 6” heels, while look fabulous for photos may begin hurting your feet after a few hours. Consider bringing a fun pair of dancing flats or flip flops to get you through the night.

Shoes That Match Your Style
The stigma that your shoes should match your white or cream wedding dress is long gone. There are so many fun, and colorful options now that your shoe should really be a reflection of who you are. These glitter Isabel Peep Toe Pumps from Jimmy Choo (can be found here) is a perfect example, as these bright and colorful shoes were as bold and upbeat as the bride herself. If heels are not your thing, there are so many great flats that are just as fabulous. You want to feel beautiful and more importantly, like yourself-and remember: it is your party and you can wear whatever you want.

Adding Special Touches
The smallest touch, or detail often goes a long way-and its even better when they serve dual purposes! This lovely “I Do” applique on these Kate Spade heels (similar style here) is a perfect example. Not only does it visually offer a great and personal detail, but also fulfills the “something blue” for her day. Another option is having your bridal party write personalized messages for you on the sole. It becomes something fun and meaningful to read before your nuptials and becomes something to treasure for years to come.

Finding the right pair of shoes can definitely be an overwhelming experience, but by taking these small tips into consideration, I hope that it can help the process go a bit smoother. Just remember whatever shoe you say “I Do” to, break them in well before your big day. Make sure they fit properly, and even more importantly, that you can walk in them comfortably! This will alleviate any surprises on your big day and you will walk confidently knowing you chose the shoe perfect for you.
